Senate Majority Leader to Propose Legalizing Online Poker, But…..

Yes, there is a Big But! As you know, the US Senate and Congress are battling over the tax deal President Obama made with the Republicans. There has never been such furor over this inexplicable compromise, and today the House voted to table discussion of this bill in the House. Meanwhile, over in the Senate, Senator Reid is offering yet another olive branch to Republicans in the form of the legalization of online poker. This is an attempt to get the 60 votes needed to pass the tax deal. However, the minority whip is opposed to legalizing online gambling of any kind. The House is going to rewrite the tax deal to make it more palpable for members to accept. But even if the Senate approves the existing deal made by President Obama and the Republicans, it still has to go back to the House for a vote. And the House is adamant they will not accept it. “Don’t count your chips just yet.”
